The Summer Solstice
The Summer Solstice is probably the most well known of all Pagan Festivals, although as it is a solar festival it is regarded as one of the Lesser Sabbats. It is however a pivotal point in the year as the sun has now reached the height of his powers and although in the UK temperatures have probably not yet reached their peak, the Sun has reached his highest point in the sky and from this time forward will decline until the time of the Winter Solstice.
This is a good time for looking backwards and celebrating things achieved, but also for looking forwards and planning things ahead.
